Chesterfield

Chesterfield

Here are some examples of Chesterfield sofas we’ve recently reconditioned and reupholstered.

We’ve worked on hundreds of Chesterfields over the years, from older traditional pieces passed down through generations to more modern styles.

What’s clear is that Chesterfields never really go out of fashion — they continue to look just as at home in classic interiors as they do in more contemporary spaces.

Log Cabin

Chesterfield

Here is something a little different. We reupholstered a relatively recent Chesterfield sofa in a sunflower gold velour. The chesterfield was probably manufactured in the 1980s, so it’s not ancient like some we have restored. The dimensions are good, a deep seat and a slightly higher back. It was bespoke restored to go in our customers guest cottage/chill-out area at the home in the Cotswolds.

Thank you Gill for sending the photos of the sofa in its new rather lovely new home.

Barker sofa

A Modern Take on a Chesterfield Sofa.

I recognised this sofa as soon as I saw it. Originally sold through Barker and Stonehouse furniture shop back in the 1980s. It’s a quality piece of classic furniture, basically a relaxed oversized Chesterfields sofa without the deep buttons. Originally retailed in a Kilim fabric that was slightly rough to the touch, a bit like a Kilim rug, they were super cool, stylish, massive and expensive.

We have reupholstered at least two in the last year, therefore, we know the quality of the frame. This example, our customer purchased for £50 🙂 Now it looks like a few thousand pounds. Stunning.
