Delighted to restore this quite rare Ercol Studio Sofa – from probably the 1960’s

Very special!
Very special!
The hurdle often can be the price. It costs more to reupholster say a Next Interiors or Laura Ashley chair than it does to buy a new one. The great thing about the likes of Next Interiors or Laura Ashley is that they are ‘on-trend’ and the fabrics used are very lovely to look at. The negative is that they are made to a price and probably mass produced in China or India – nothing wrong with that as it gives us a great deal – but they are made to a price and engineered to last just a few years with average use.
For value for money and a piece of furniture that will last much longer your better off buying an older quality chair and investing in a restoration of your design.
Here is an example of a fairly standard traditional wingback chair restored and updated with an ‘on-trend’ fabric. Costs a bit more, take a little more time to instigate but made to your style using British craftsmen and quality fabrics. There is no other like it!
Ready to serve and look stylish in any home for another 100 years
We restore antique furniture as originally built using tie-in coil springs and modernised wadding with rubberised ‘horse hair’. So the result is a classic handmade piece of historic furniture you can use every day and will last far longer than a modern version. I’m in love!
WHAT IS AQUACLEAN?
Aquaclean technology is a revolutionary fabric treatment that allows you to clean stains using water only. This provides you with simple fabric maintenance in the minimum amount of time.
Aquaclean helps to remove the majority of household stains (wine, ink, sauce, fat, mud, chocolate, cream, etc.) making life easier and giving you more time for the more important things.
HOW DOES AQUACLEAN WORK?
AquacleanTechnology is an advanced fabric protector for upholstery of all kinds. It’s a treatment that covers every fiber with an invisible molecular layer that prevents dirt from penetrating the fabric.

Custom Upholstered Footstool – A Perfect Blend of Comfort & Functionality
This beautifully upholstered footstool has been finished in our customer’s own fabric, creating a truly personalised piece that complements their home perfectly.
I always have a footstool at home—they make sitting and chatting over a cuppa so much more comfortable, letting you rest your feet and even double up as a handy tea tray stand!
This particular design features a lift-up lid, providing hidden storage for games, magazines, or anything else you need to tidy away in a hurry. In my house, it’s mostly X-Box controllers! 🎮

Thank you Ann!
This one is dark teak framed chair with a heavy rubberised and foam seat pad which is very firm to sit on but extremely comfortable for all sizes and weights – adults and children alike.
A super quality chair that is part of a ten-set we reupholstered in a beige weave durable fabric for a long dinner service!
Lovely!
Isn’t she lovely!
“I am thrilled with the result, they are wonderful. I have ordered new blinds and am looking for “pieces” to finish dressing the room.
I would thank you all for your friendliness and professional attitude.
I would have no problem recommending you to anyone thinking of reupholstering furniture.”
Best wishes,
Customer in Manfield near Darlington.

We usually only work on car seat restoration rather that regular repairs etc.
This customer asked us to restore the front and back seats of his ‘desert find’ Cadillac from Arizona where it sat for 30 years.
Real leather hide was requested to replace the original blue and grey, the cloth now almost turned to dust.
Here are the Cadillac Eldorado seats waiting to be stripped down.
Photos of the completed Cadillac Car Seats are below.
Some chairs just have ‘IT’ and this sweet 1960’s easy chair I love.
Really neat so it fits in our modern homes. A delicate colour chosen by our customer in a beautiful to the touch wool mix by Linwood. Very fashionable at the moment, will always be a classic and very comfortable too.
The word retro signifies looking backward. When designers, manufacturers and customers speak about retro furniture, we are referring to a style of furniture that looks back with nostalgia and pays homage to styles that were popular in the past. Currently furniture designers are inspired by 60s and 70s – this one is the genuine item.
Namely, retro furniture was popular in the decades of 1950s, 1960s, 1970s. Recently, the industry has added the 80s to the list, which personally I am shocked at. I love 1960’s like this chair but the 80s?
A Knole Sofa was made in the 17th century. It is housed at Knole in Kent, a house owned by the Sackville-Wests since 1605 but now in the care of the National Trust. It was originally used not as comfortable sofa but as a formal throne on which the monarch would have sat to receive visitors. It features adjustable side arms and considerable depth of seating, it usually has exposed wooden finials at the rear corner tops, and some exposed wood may be present on the otherwise arms. The arms, more correctly sides, are of the same height. The side arms are tied to the sofa back by means of heavy decorative braid, often with an elaborate tassel.
A customer chose a really fresh choice of fabric colour-way with a matching braid. These classics look beautiful in any home setting, modern or traditional. Not only beautifully made but they are surprisingly heavy. Try picking one up, you’ll get a bit of a shock! Oh and i love the colours!
