These are a delightful design. Known as a ‘Howard Chair’ after the original manufacturer in London. There are many variations of this plain but distinctively styled chair. They fit in a modern and a traditional home. We can make a new version to order but this was one we restored.
I have been looking forward to sharing this item. A very rare and on-trend genuine Victorian sofa. It looks luscious in the customers’ own fabric – a rich port red. Unknown to most is the craftsmanship inside the sofa. Been a Victorian piece of a very high quality the frame was is strengthened by cast-iron bars. We renewed all the base webbing to be as tight as steel – the sofa can take it. And it looks very special.
Reupholstered in a Linwood weave fabric. I really like the curves and long lasting styling of this pair of sofas.
Our customer purchased this amazing high-quality Chesterfield sofa for less than £100. It needed a full restoration of course but the quality when we took it apart was the best we have ever seen. Now restored and upholstered in the customers choice of Linwood Omega Italian Velvet in river stone – wow it looks amazing, sits beautifully and will last a lifetime.
A delightful see of Tub Chairs reupholstered in a golden Linwood Weave.

With a coordinating chair.

Orange Peel Chair Restoration and reupholstery.
The Orange Peel Chair was designed to capture the organic beauty of a falling orange peel. Its unique, curved design makes it a true statement piece, can look great in any home, and it’s surprisingly comfortable, it tilts back.
We’ve had the pleasure of restoring and reupholstering several iconic Orange Peel Chairs from across the UK. Reupholstering this chair is a unique challenge due to its unconventional design and curved cushion, but our master craftsman, Barry Griffiths, handles each with expert care and precision.
Recently, we completed one in supple Scottish hide, which the customer said looked even better than new. Another was transformed from vinyl to luxurious velvet, and our most recent Peel Chair was reupholstered in Linwood Moleskin fabric—all stunning results that always catch the eye of passing customers.
Designer chairs like these, when restored, can be worth thousands of pounds. They not only retain their value but also become conversation pieces and comfortable chairs built to last a lifetime.
‘We received the chair and I have to say you did a wonderful job. It’s better than the photos. My husband was shocked at how good the chair looks’ – Thank you.

A set of tub chairs reupholstered with a thicker back padding. The extra back padding was added to give a more luxurious look and feel. These are now absolute bespoke chairs and they are lovely to look at and sit in
I imagine my self with a cold cocktail sitting in one of these chairs.

Duresta Sofas and Chair: We recently replaced all the outside arms and face covers for a set of Duresta sofas and one chair, restoring them to new condition. To ensure a seamless match, the fabric was sourced from Duresta direct, resulting in a flawless finish.
Alteration and Repair Duresta: We can alter and repair. We expertly resized a Duresta sofa, reducing its width by 2 feet to perfectly fit into a bay window. Our precise craftsmanship ensures a tailored fit that seamlessly integrates into the space, enhancing both functionality and aesthetics.
‘ Delighted with the reupholstering of our 2 sofas which are 20 years old but now look brand new. The workmanship is of the highest standard, couldn’t have asked for a better job plus the work was completed on time. Many thanks.‘
Here is a really lovely antique 1920’s Drop Arm sofa as we restored it.
An outstanding pair of classic sofas. In steel grey Linwood Italian velvet.
Its a really well-proportioned pair of sofas reupholstered in Linwood velvet with wool contrast piping.
Although I’d say this is a more winter type chair it will sit cool in your home. Wool is cool in the heat and warm in the winter. Also, isn’t it a good idea to get all your reupholstery done now, in the summer, while we are traditionally quieter, it’s easier to move furniture around too – fewer draughts and muddy feet.
We are delighted to restore this sprung rocking chair.
Our customer loved the chair but it was past its best. To buy a new chair or restore the old was the question. It fits nicely in the conservatory, the customer liked the style so she decided to instruct us to restore the wood back to its original colour, re-web (under seat springing) and reupholster with all new foam padding.
The result is a fine quality bespoke restored chair.
We used Ross fabric as selected and think it works really well.
Note the all new webbing and fabric under cushion sleeve as it was originally.
Restored and reupholstered in a luscious rich claret velvet. Perfect for a library. Bergère Chairs are very comfortable due to the deep and wide seats, usually feather filled cushions and a slightly lower height.
Above is the Bergere set in the workshop. An older reupholstery had made the cushions a little too narrow and our customer wanted the cushions firmed-up and to be made comfortable. So as you can see on the above photo we made the new red cushion cases a little wider to fit snug with the frame.
We are proud to work on this brand new – soon to open a cafe in Reeth, North Yorkshire. Located in a basement, this new cafe has tiled wood floors and contemporary bench seating. Our customer selected the AquClean commercial fabric that can be cleaned with just water. The pistachio colour looks great against the ‘wood’ floor. Upholstered new bench seating.

We made the frame and the bespoke foams for this too.
Restored including new wood bun feet.
Parker Knoll made this style of chair famous. Wingback chairs have been made for hundreds of years – the wing to shelter you from draughts and to rest your head. Our customer selected a lovely wool mix plaid tartan and asked us to self pipe the edges.
It looks really elegant and styling, now updated and more fitting to a contemporary or traditional home.
A chair like this is a valuable asset to any family and it may live in a number of rooms in the future. Very lovely.
