We are often asked about the areas we cover for furniture collection. In general, we provide a national service, but our collections are primarily in Darlington, North Yorkshire, and up to Newcastle. However, we have also had customers ship furniture to us from Portugal, Ireland, and France, so location isn’t a problem as long as you can get the furniture to us. We offer free, expert advice on reupholstery and restoration jobs, and we can guide you on how to ship your furniture to us. It’s simpler than you might think. A reupholstered stunning antique occasional Linwood chair. Crafted from walnut wood and reupholstered with Linwood fabric, our customer opted for a Linwood-printed Hi-Ho Silver velvet.

Footstool with a button top

If you’ve been following us for a while, you’ll know we have a fondness for footstools. This particular footstool, likely dating back to the 1960s, was discovered by one of our customers and sent to us for refurbishment and reupholstery following specific design styling including a neatly spaced button top. We also cleaned and polished its light-coloured wooden legs.

An in-progress chaise-long

We’ve noticed we haven’t shared many before-and-after photographs lately. Initially, we believed customers preferred seeing the finished product rather than the work in progress or the product on the bench. However, we’d like to showcase an example of our traditional craftsmanship. On the left, you can see the chaise lounge in progress, undergoing preparation for reupholstery; Hand-tied coil springs supported by the jute webbing underneath. Additionally, on the back, you can see the preparation for insulating the hand-pressed, hand-tied buttons. While on the right, you can admire the finished article.
