Well, it’s not really. This is the first Kingston chair (on the left) we reupholstered as part of a group of six. The one on the right is, of course, one of the chairs before we *reupholstered it and on the left is the freshly reupholstered Kingston chair. We hope you like this strong demonstration of what we produce. It’s not often we get the chance to show a ‘before and after’ photograph.
*When we reupholstery an item of furniture we don’t always explain that the internals is also fixed, strengthened, re-foamed, wrapped, and re-sprung as required before we reupholster.

Information: The original Knole Settee (also known as the Knole Sofa) is a couch chair that was made in the 17th century, probably around 1640. It is housed at ‘Knole’ in Kent, a house owned by the Sackville-West family since 1605 but now in the care of the National Trust.

A side note: If you look for a new equivalent to this style of sofa and of this bespoke quality you will need some thousands of pounds. This is a restored original.

It’s all in the detail. The details on these exquisite dining chairs are lovely. Deep buttoned seats with a braided edge. The fabric is a Linwood cotton print, see our fabrics page.

Here is something a little different. We reupholstered a relatively recent Chesterfield sofa in a sunflower gold velour. The chesterfield was probably manufactured in the 1980s, so it’s not ancient like some we have restored. The dimensions are good, a deep seat and a slightly higher back. It was bespoke restored to go in our customers guest cottage/chill-out area at the home in the Cotswolds.
